    Reading Club- 1

Here are some good stories that you might want to read...

Totto-Chan: The Little Girl at the Window by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi

Every one of us has been a little girl and boy at some point in life. Do you remember whether you were naughty and had to be punished by your teacher? This is a story of a little girl and her name is Totochan. She was a little girl who had been expelled by her elementary school because she was ‘different’…. Her mother had to send her to a special school where the classrooms were rail-road cars and the headmaster believed that children should be learning at their own pace. In Tomoe, as the school was called, Totochan was allowed to let her imagination run and lessons were always an “adventure” of knowledge. Find out how ‘different’ Totochan was and why she was expelled. What was Tomoe like? How did Totochan cope in her new school? Read to find
    out!

    Walkabout by James Marshall

Mary and Peter, two American children, are stranded in the middle of the Australian desert after the plane they are traveling in crashes. Although they survive the crash, Mary knows their problems have really only just started. How is she going to feed herself and her younger brother? Then they met an Aboriginal boy. He is on walkabout. It is a test taken by boys of thirteen or fourteen years old in the desert. He is their only hope. However, a misunderstanding occurs….. Would the children survive in the desert? What happened to the Aboriginal boy?

    Harvey Angell by Diana Hendry

Henry feels there is something mysterious about Aunt Agatha's new tenant. Despite his tool-box and his talk of watts and volts, Harvey Angell is no ordinary electrician. He calls himself a "homer" and a homer can put love back into people's lives. He certainly revolutionizes Ballantyre Road.
When Harvey Angell zaps into Ballantyre Road, he brightens up Henry's life like a super-charged thunderbolt. With Harvey around, the atmosphere's electric! But despite his Connecting Kit and 'energy field jargon, Henry is sure Harvey's no ordinary sparky. Musician, magician or electrician? Henry's determined to find out exactly who Harvey Angell really is and watt he actually does...

Reader comments, what do you think of all the books??
